The SJDR Saints - Girls secured a decisive 15-3 victory over Christ The King Catholic on Friday, fueled by a stellar performance from Luciana Nichols in the pitcher's circle. Nichols dominated, striking out 12 batters and allowing just one hit and three runs across four innings.
The Saints' offense exploded for nine runs in the third inning. Key plays included Aaliyah Cartozian being hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, Haigan Bishop's RBI single, Regan Kissell's three-run homer to left field, Emily Broder's RBI triple, Penelope Strickland's RBI double, and Cartozian's exciting inside-the-park home run that brought in two more runs.
The scoring started early for the Saints. In the bottom of the first, Millie Albert's groundout brought in a run, followed by Caroline Dippel's RBI single and Mckenna Loper's two-run double. They continued to build their lead in the second inning when Luciana Nichols singled to left field and then stole home, each contributing a run.
The Saints' offense was potent throughout the game, amassing 13 hits. Albert, Broder, Nichols, and Loper each had two hits. Kissell led the team with three RBIs, going 1-for-2. The Saints were also aggressive on the base paths, stealing a total of 12 bases, with Bishop, Nichols, and Loper each stealing multiple bases.

The Saints will be hosting Annunciation at home on Tuesday, May 13th, at 4:00 pm, in an effort to prolong their playoff run. Come out and support the girls’ softball team as they strive to advance to the finals. GO SAINTS!
